On Monday I finished up what I did not complete over Spring Break. I did my refine topic and by abstract. I also completed my 5-15 report. For Wednesday’s class I read, “The Colonial Period in Korea: A Handy Overview” and “‘Contracting for Sex in the Pacific War’: The Case for Retraction on Grounds of Academic Misconduct”. I also briefly looked over the Adam Cathcart optional reading. The first text was the student authored text book and was extremely beneficial to get a quick overview of the events. It was concise and gave all the main points. Unfortunately I did not go to class on Wednesday but on the slides I did see how personal stories may include bias, withholding information, not remembering the events clearly, and making up information. It is really important to think about if these primary sources include any of these. To be ale to deal with these you need to find a bunch of sources and figure out the story for yourself by piecing in together. For Thursday I replied to blog posts. For Friday I worked on my first draft for my chapter and finished it over the weekend. I know what I want to include but I am not sure how to format everything. On my todo list I want to keep looking at my sources to include more information in my draft. I also want to find a primary source to include and pictures to include. I also want to figure out how to format and cite my sources.
