On Monday we went through how to use Zotero and the connector. During the session I learned how to add my book into the class library and access all the other texts. On Thursday I read four others blog posts and commented on them. It was interesting to see others experiences thus far in the class versus mine, and how much they have interpreted from the material versus what I understood.
On Friday I decided to read option A, which was the Introduction of Buddhism. I chose to read this option because I do not know much about buddhism, and the influence it had on Korea and wanted to read more about it. Buddhism is slightly different in Korea. It was desired to spread the influence of Buddhism, however because there was ignorance of the origin and development of the religion, someone was sent to enlighten the prime minister. Background of the monk was given including where he studied and what texts he looked at. Monk Popkong was loved by the people and portrayed as a saint. He wanted to spread buddhism, and Silla was known as land of the Buddha. During class time I compared my text with my group members and I heard about The Koguryo Annals of the Samguk Sagi.
On my to do list, I have looking at more topics for my project. As I am being exposed to more topics, I am thinking more about what I want to do. Additionally last week my hyper link did not work, so I hope this week it works and opens the text. It seems to work when I press on it, but not when others do.
